All TDs throughout Co. Tipperary are to be asked to give their support to a campaign to prevent the loss of one of two ambulances that serve Cashel.
Plans are said to be underway to remove one of the town’s ambulances which are based at Our Lady’s Hospital in the town.
A public meeting was held last night on the matter and it was decided that a committee would be formed to progress the campaign, while all TDs in North and South Tipperary will be called upon to add their support to the effort.
It was also said last night that a High Court agreement, which stated that the two ambulances would remain operating from the hospital when acute services were withdrawn, still applies.
