Tipperary County Council will meet on Monday in Clonmel and included on the agenda is the consideration of the disposal of 4 different pieces of property for a variety of reasons.
O’Riordan Monumental Sculptor’s are seeking to lease land in Cashel at the rear of St. Cormac’s Cemetery as a temporary training facility to provide competency courses for monumental sculptors in addition to the grave digging activity while they look for a permanent location.
Tipperary county council accepts the need for the provision of competent grave diggers to carry out grave digging activity in Tipperary County Council Burial Grounds.
O’Riordan Monumental Sculptor will erect 8ft security fencing and gates to the letting area which if approved will be established for a period of 3 years at a cost of €500.
The councillors are also asked to approve a 25 year lease on a building associated with the former Lisheen Mines near Moyne.
The lease is to be granted to the Irish Bio Economy for the use in the research, development and production relating to the bio economy which is focused on creating energy from organic waste and renewable sources of organic materials.
The lease will generate €100,000 in annual revenue for the council. In addition the councillors are asked to approve the sale of a site in Carrick on Suir to Red City Kitchens for a sum of €130,000.
The lands were purchased by the Council as a development site for local industry with the aim for promoting employment and enterprise.
Red City Kitchens Limited are a long established kitchen, furniture and wooden storage space manufacturer.
It is hoped that the deal will secure and sustain the existing skilled 14 full time jobs.
Finally a small site of .034 hectares will be sold to Nenagh Childcare Committee for €3,750 to facilitate a larger play space and additional parking and drop off space. The meeting on Monday will commence at 11am.
