Planning Permission For Mast In New Inn Refused

404

Planning permission for a telecommunications mast in New Inn village has been refused by Tipperary County Council.

The application from eir had previously been refused by the council and appealed to An Bord Pleanála(ABP) who upheld the council’s decision.

Local residents are opposed to the installation of a 15m high shrouded mast to replace the existing 12 m pole.

The eir exchange is in the centre of the village.

It is now expected that eir may appeal the council’s decision to  ABP as it claims the larger mast is necessary to provide an  adequate service for customers in the area.

The council planning authority is not satisfied that the proposal as presented is capable of being visually absorbed and adds that the proposal therefore conflicts with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area.

There were 34 submissions on the application for planning permission.
