Farmers Allowed To Burn Hedging Until End of February

Farmers will be allowed to burn bushes and hedging on their farms until the end of February.

It follows concerns after it emerged that no exemption order had been issued by Environment Minister Eamon Ryan.

Fianna Fail’s Jackie Cahill is welcoming the decision and believes burning green waste is a standard practice that many farmers avail of.

The Tipperary TD says the suggestion that shredders would be brought onto each individual farm was never a runner.
