Appeals For Dash Cam Footage Following Head On Collision On The N62

A teenager remains in a critical but stable condition in University Hospital Limerick following a two car crash on the N62 approach road to Thurles yesterday. The head-on collision occurred on a straight stretch of road between the local Service Station and the entrance to Rosemount Housing Estate south of the town.

Four other persons were hospitalised with serious injuries. Three males were travelling in a vehicle heading towards town when it was in a collision with a vehicle with two female occupants.

The Superintendent responsible for community Engagement in the Thurles area, Eddie Golden says Gardaí are anxious to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have seen a specific vehicle prior to the collision. The vehicle is described as a “black Kia Estate with an 08 Registration” and this vehicle was travelling towards Thurles.

Garda are also asking for any persons who may have dash-cam footage from the area in the time leading up to the collision, at 10.50am approximately, to make  contact with the Gardaí in Thurles on 0504 25100 or via the Garda Confidential Line on 1 800 666 111.
