Uisce Eireann says it’s staff and contractors will present their ID in future when meeting residents or business owner/operators in areas where work is being undertaken.
The company is giving the assurance after a recent incident in Cashel when personnel were calling to houses in Upper Friar Street at night. Deputy Martin Browne says “If anyone is in doubt about the identity of an individual claiming to be working for Uisce Eireann, they can ring 1800 278 278 to verify the identification of any of the utility company’s workers or contractors.”
Uisce Eireann is also confirming that upcoming leakage repairs will be taking place in Cashel, and that due to the nature of the works, it may be necessary to undertake these works in the evening or at night time.
The TD is advising anyone with concerns to ask for ID to confirm the identity of anyone who may call to their home or business in respect of water services.
