A Hair Salon in Tipperary town is supporting the Movember campaign.

Anne Marie Ryan says the team in the Hair FX Salon always try to keep their window display relevant and themed.

This month the store manager Anita suggested the placement of Moustaches to create awareness for the Movember campaign.

The global campaign seeks to draw awareness to men’s health issues by placing a focus on facial hair.

The slogan “changing the face of men’s health” is typified by males growing a moustache during the month.

Many do so to raise funds for charities related to men’s health with a particular emphasis on mental health, physical movement, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Ms Ryan says her own clientele, mostly female have commented positively on the display and that she is happy to help in any way that creates awareness of the need to act on any health concern as soon as possible and to regularly have a check-up especially in regards to the PSA test that can provide an early indicator of prostate cancer.

Meanwhile Three staff members from the Knockanrawley Resource Centre in Tipperary town – Tony, Timmy and John are taking part in Movember and raising funds for The Circle of Friends Cancer Support Centre by seeking sponsorship for their every increasing albeit temporary moustaches on the iDonate platform at this link here.

Further information about Movember can be found on the global website ie.movember.com or the Facebook page MovemberIreland.
