A Fine Gael councillor is calling on Uisce Eireann to get their priorities right and progress with a Waste Water Treatment plant for Golden.
Cllr Michael Fitzgerald welcomes news that main cast iron pipes are to be replaced with modern pipes on the main street but claims that Uisce Eireann has no interest in providing the infrastructure to help develop investment and opportunities for small rural communities to expand and survive.
The Golden based Councillor says currently raw sewerage is being piped into the River Suir just upstream from the village bridge.
Cllr Fitzgerald says there’s a site that is purchased and planning secured for this waste water facility to be built.
