Knockanrawley Resource Centre Appoints New Manager

Knockanrawley Resource Centre in Tipperary town has announced the appointment of Ms Emer Duggan as Centre Manager. Ms Duggan is a native of Tipperary and recently returned to Ireland after working in Perth, Australia in the Community Services area for over a decade.

The Resource Centre offers a wide range of services to the local community and supports a number of programs and groups within the complex situated at Knockanrawley. These include education, child care, walking groups, a women’s group, Tipperary Men’s Shed(the first ever established in Ireland), counselling services, the Ability programme aimed at helping young people with disabilities to gain employment, the Young at Heart Social Group and Fáilte Isteach language classes for migrants to mention a few.  In addition, the Centre also provides outreach facilities to a number of organisations such as Cuan Saor, HSE addiction services and Probation services. The spacious complex also includes an organic garden and a number of allotment spaces.

Ms Duggan takes over from Emer Leahy. Ms Leahy took up a new position as Service Manager with Jigsaw Tipperary – the youth mental health service. One of Ms Duggan’s first duties as Centre Manager was to attend the screening of Knockanrawley – Our Place at the Tipperary Excel Centre – see image.
