In advance of this week’s resumed strike action by Retained Fire Fighters in County Tipperary the Council Executive says that  it is continuing to engage with local Retained Fire Fighters to maintain a response to emergency calls during the upcoming industrial action. Strike action is to resume on Wednesday July 26th after Firefighters voted 82% to 18% to reject proposals from the Labour Court.

Tipperary County Council wants to assure the public that every effort is being made to reduce the risk to communities during the dispute and an effective contingency plan is in place to ensure public safety. The Council says it will keep members of the public informed.

All households and businesses are advised to ensure they have working smoke alarms and should continue to use 999 or 112 calls in the case of an emergency.
