Uisce Eireann says it cannot give a conclusive date for the lifting of Boil Water Notices on the Ardfinnan and Thurles Regional Water Supply Schemes.

The Notice on the Ardfinnan scheme affects approximately 11,350 customers and is in place since July 7th. The notice was issued to operational issues at the water treatment plant. Water sampling has commenced on the Ardfinnan supply and Uisce Éireann says it is working with Tipperary County Council and the HSE to lift the notice as soon as it is safe to do so. Three consecutive days of satisfactory results are required before the notice can be lifted.

The notice on the Thurles Regional Public Scheme was put in place on 14 July and impacts 11,398 customers. Uisce Eireann says work is ongoing to resolve the issues which necessitated the imposition of the Boil Water Notice.

The company says it greatly regrets any inconvenience caused to homes and businesses in the community due to the notices. Five other Boil Water Notices; on the Glenary, Ballylooby Burncourt, Galtee Regional, Templetney and Poulavanogue Schemes have been lifted to date.
