173 groups across County Tipperary are to receive funding under the 2022 Community Support Fund. The total allocated to County Tipperary is €323,000 with grants ranging in size from €500 to €2,500 in general. Some of the grants were significantly higher – Energy Communities Cooperative Tipperary receives €8,000, Cahir Tidy Towns Blue Way Project receives €7,400(in addition to an allocation of €2,000 for Cahir Tidy Towns) and the Cuan Saor Women’s Refuge is allocated €5,000.
The 2022 Community Support Fund was launched in November 2022 with funding of €10 million available. €100,000 of this funding was ring-fenced specifically to support Women’s Sheds. The key theme of the fund is to support groups, particularly in disadvantaged areas, with their energy bills, as well as with improvements to their facilities.
