Local Tidy Towns Calls On Community To Partake In “Spring Clean”

In support of An Taisce National Spring Clean Tipperary Tidy Towns group is inviting members of the community to join a town “Spring Clean” on Saturday 22nd of April.

The group has targeted a number of specific locations in and around the town for the clean-up.

Tipperary Tidy Towns group will provide high visibility jackets, gloves, bags and litter pickers at a central point established at the Tipperary Hills Pitch and Putt Club car park at 9am.

The group is appealing for a strong community response for this annual Spring Clean Event. Weekly litter picks commence every Saturday morning from the gates of the Pitch and Putt Club.  Tipperary County Council will arrange for collection and disposal of the waste collected.Tipperary town was awarded 332 marks out of 550 for it’s Tidy Towns 2022 entry. The town scored 53 out of a possible 90 in the Tidiness and Litter Control section of the competition. Tipperary Tidy Towns Group is also working towards improving the rating of the town in the Irish Business Against Litter Award. The town earned a “clean” status and was ranked 23rd out of 40 towns across the country that were surveyed in late 2022.
