Flowers and candles have been placed at the scene of a house fire yesterday that took the life of a woman in Pearse Park, Tipperary town.
The woman had recently returned to her home after a stay in a nursing home and was well loved in the community. Just last Tuesday she visited the hair salon as her health improved. Patsy O’Donnell was aged 74 and had lost her partner Noel Goodall in April 2022. Their home which bears the name “Teach Beag” was their pride and joy according to neighbours – adorned with flowers and pot plants. Mr Goodall had operated a tile business located on O’Brien Street in Tipperary Town.
Neighbours today paid tribute to the people that raised the alarm and the men that tried to rescue the woman from either the front or rear of the single storey house. There has been an outpouring of condolences for the family of Ms O’Donnell. She is survived by her son and grandson.
Locally councillor Anne Marie Ryan offered her condolences to family, friends and neighbours describing the sudden tragic loss of Ms O’Donnell as very sad news.
