Councillors in Tipperary being asked to note that new penalties are in force since the 1st of January in respect to misuse of a disabled parking permit and parking inappropriately in an electric charging bay. The Minister of State for Transport, Hildegarde Naughton, has signed regulations introducing new Fixed Charged Notices whereby the misuse of a disabled parking permit can incur a fixed charge penalty of €200.  Parking in an electric charging bay for anything other than the intended purpose of charging a vehicle battery will incur a fixed charge penalty of €80. It is intended that the Councillors would help to create awareness of the new regulations.
