Ireland’s representative for the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest is Dublin band Wild Youth. The selection was made following a special contest on the Late Late Show hosted by RTE’s Ryan Tubridy. The program featured six contestants for the coveted slot representing Ireland. The band – consisting of David Whelan, Ed Porter, Conor O’Donohoe and Callum McAdam have toured extensively in recent years with some high-profile gigs supporting Westlife and performing at Electric Picnic.
The band’s song is titled “We Are One” and they will face stiff competition at the 2023 contest which is being hosted by the UK in Liverpool as it was considered impossible to stage the event in the home country of the 2022 winners Ukraine.
