The local Lions Club is encourage people to send in their nomination for this year’s Cashel Person of the Year.
The group is inviting clubs, organisations and individuals to put their thinking caps on and to pick someone who they feel deserves it.
The Club President Eddie Morrissey, says the purpose of the award is to recognise a person who has contributed to the social, cultural, sporting, artistic, spiritual or community life in the area.
Nominations for the award should be forwarded to club secretary DJ Horan by email to [email protected] on or before Thursday March 10th.
Those nominating are asked to outline, in writing, the contribution that their nominee makes to the local community with particular focus on their work during 2021.
The person who submits the nomination will also be invited to meet with an independent panel of judges to discuss the contribution made by their nominee to the local community.
It is planned to announce the Cashel Person of the Year during the week beginning Monday March 14th.
