Tipperary County Council are acting to enforce litter regulations.
A man found to be misusing a public bin in Carrick on Suir has been fined after being caught twice dumping in the public bins in the area. He was fined €150 for each offence.
Local councillor David Dunne commented on the case at a meeting of Carrick Municipal District saying everyone should have their own bin and if not, proof that they are using the proper facilities for household waste.
Two cases in relation to Cashel Tipp MD are also before the courts – one involves bags of waste material dumped in the Vee and the failure to properly engage with the council regarding farm plastic. The cases are set to be heard on two dates in September.
