Cashel Garda station will provide upwards of 40 hours per week of public hours when it reopens later this year.

It is expected that the current renovation works will be completed in July.

At present a public office is provided by An Garda Siochana in Cashel for three half days per week at the former council office on Friar Street.

The Divisional Drugs Unit for Clare/Tipperary Garda division will be based in Cashel Garda station on Hogan Square when it reopens.

The progress has been welcomed by local Cllr Declan Burgess who recently hosted a visit by Justice Minister Helen McEntee and Senator Garret Ahearn.
