Circle of Friends appeals to people with symptom worries to contact GP

An appeal has been made for people who are worried they may be experiencing symptoms of cancer, not to delay in contacting their GP as the best results come with early diagnosis.

Pat Jones, from Tipperary town cancer support centre Circle of Friends this morning responded to revelations that the number of people being referred to cancer diagnostic services has fallen since the onset of Covid-19.

The National Cancer Control Programme has expressed its concern that people who may have symptoms of cancer are delaying seeking medical advice due to Covid-19 concerns.

Speaking to Tipp Mid West today, Pat Jones appealed to people not to delay in contacting their GP if they have these concerns.

He also pointed out that Circle of Friends is still available over the phone to provide support.
