Co Tipperary will join the rest of the country in being subject to a Status Yellow weather warning tomorrow as Storm Lorenzo approaches.

Met Eireann’s weather warning advises of winds reaching mean speeds of 50kph to 65kph with gusts of up to 100kph possible, resulting in some ‘disruptive impacts’.

That weather warning is valid from 9am tomorrow to 6am Friday.

Meanwhile, a more severe Status Orange Weather warning will apply for western counties including Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick, where winds with mean speeds of 65kph to 80kph are likely, with possible gusts of 100kph to 130kph – higher in coastal regions.  That warning will come into effect from 6pm tomorrow and will remain in place until 3am on Friday.

Flooding and further damage is also possible in coastal areas with storm surges imminent.

A Status Yellow rainfall warning for the entire country will take effect from 9am tomorrow and will remain in place until 9am on Friday.
