Met Éireann has warned that we may expect some very story conditions, with possibly damaging winds as Hurricane Lorenzo makes its way across the Atlantic Ocean towards Ireland in the coming days.
While the forecaster reiterates that there is “still uncertainty” regarding the hurricane’s potential impact, there is “high probability that it could track close to or over Ireland in a weakened form, bringing strong winds […] veering westerly and strengthening further, with a risk of severe winds developing [on] Thursday and Thursday night”.
Met Éireann says that they are constantly tracking Lorenzo, and advise the public to keep an eye on updates and be prepared for some rough conditions later this week.
However, the forecaster went on to explain that any damaging weather events should abate quickly, and calm by Friday morning.
