Passengers from Cashel and Cahir will soon be able to cut their journey times to Dublin upon the announcement that Bus Eireann is to make changes to its X8 service.
As part of the changes, the X8 service will no longer stop in Portlaoise and Urlingford once it leaves Cashel.
The bus will use the full motorway route which will result in the journey time being reduced by 25 mins.
Bus Eireann also intends to join with the National Transport Authority in commencing a procurement competition to run a private shuttle service between Portlaoise and Cashel stopping in Urlingford and other destinations to maintain the connections between Portlaoise and Cashel.
this would be a minimum of two services per day Monday to Saturday with additional services to run on Fridays and Sundays.
