Tipp firm secure deal with McDonalds

A multi-million euro deal to supply bacon to fast food outlet MCDonalds has been  secured by a Co Tipperary firm.

The contract was awarded to Dew Valley which will now supply up to nine million pieces of cooked bacon to all 84 Mcdonalds restaurants in Ireland.

Dew valley employs 250 people in Ireland and has its headquarters in Thurles.

The deal has been described as good news by Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney.

there is also a possibility that Dew Valley may in the future go on to supply produce to the fast food chain’s European branches.
