During a visit to Thurles recently, the Minister for Health James Reilly committed to returning the Hospital of the Assumption in Thurles to full capacity.
The Health Minister paid a visit to the area last week on the request of local TD Noel Coonan.
In the course of the visit, Minister Reilly attended a meeting at the Community Hospital of the Assumption with management of the facility, Thurles Hospital Action Committee members and HSE officials.
According to Deputy Coonan, the Minister announced that he will strive for facilities to be brought back to full capacity and said that funding will be made available to bring the bed complemented to 60.
