Tipperary’s Excel Centre’s cinema

There has been some good news in relation to the cinema at Tipperary’s Excel Centre.

According to the centre’s board of management, an agreement has been reached with Digital Cinema Ltd to install the equipment needed to bring the cinema into the digital era.

The closure of the cinema was announced recently due to low turn-out numbers and insufficient funding to transfer from the old system to digital. However, speaking to Tipperary Mid West Radio this morning, board member Andy Lacey said that an agreement has been reached to update the projection equipment and further details, including the effects this will have on planned job losses will be made in due course.
