A total of €110,000 is to be allocated to the two Tipperary County Councils for their part in hosting the national event The Gathering Ireland.
The event aims to be Ireland's biggest ever tourism initiative, providing an opportunity for those with ancestral links or an affinity to Ireland to play a part in Ireland's economic recovery.
€2 million is to be put into funding the event which takes place throughout 2013.
North and South Tipperary County Council's will each receive €55,000 to support Gathering events and activities at a local level
