An Post is officially seeking a new private contractor postmaster for Tipperary town. The contract was advertised on the An Post website yesterday and expressions of interest must be submitted by 5pm on March 15th.
An Post announced on January 25th that the Post Office in Tipperary Town would be changed from being an office run directly by An Post to one owned and managed by a private contractor postmaster. At the time An post indicated that the new owner may move the Post Office to another location in the town. An Post have advertised a total of 10 postmaster contracts alongside the Tipperary contract including a contract for Newtown near Nenagh. The An Post website includes a link to an expression of interest form and indicates that desirable candidates will have proven retail and business development skills and the ability to access suitable premises. A petition on the My Uplift platform, launched by two Tipperary town Councillors is asking An Post to ensure the post office location remains in the centre of Tipperary town.
