Fine Gael and Labour in South Tipperary got together today to launch the government’s campaign for a yes vote in the upcoming Fiscal Stability Treaty referendum.
Fine Gael’s Tom Hayes and Labour’s Denis Landy attended the launch at the County Council’s offices in Clonmel this lunchtime.
Speaking at the launch, Deputy Hayes mentioned the business organisations who are advocating a yes vote while Senator Landy said that the purpose of the treaty is to restore stability and confidence back into the Irish economy.
In the meantime, South Tipperary Independent TD, Mattie McGrath has called on the government to postpone the referendum on the basis of political change in Europe and questions about the content of the treaty among some political politicions in Germany.
