Overnight Water Supply Restrictions Lifted For Ardfinnan Regional Water Supply Scheme Customers

219

Overnight water supply restrictions are being lifted this Friday morning for approximately 12,000 customers on the Ardfinnan Regional Water Supply Scheme.

For the second consecutive night restrictions on supply were in place between 9pm and 7am to assist reservoir levels to recover following a burst to a mains pipe supplying raw water to the treatment plant. This burst, one of several in recent days on the Ardfinnan Scheme,  occurred  on Tuesday June 4th.  The pipe has since been repaired but it may take a few days for full pressure to return across the network.

A boil water notice is also in place on this scheme since Wednesday June 5th.

Water restrictions are expected to continue for a few more nights to allow the reservoirs to replenish and confirmation of this is expected from Uisce Eireann this afternoon.
