Residents and visitors to Ardfinnan are advised that Ardfinnan Green will be officially closed for a two month period.
This closure is to facilitate footpath widening, resurfacing, landscaping and the installation of picnic tables.
However some limited access to the Green will be provided during the works and Tipperary County Council says access will be provided where possible and safe to do so.
Tipperary County Council are also apologising for any inconvenience the construction works and partial closure may cause.
The Green is located on the bank of the River Suir and is bordered by the Holy Family Church and Ardfinnan National School.
The works are an upgrade on a pathway installed by Ardfinnan Tidy Towns some years ago and will not impact on the use of the space for other activities such as football according to local councillor Michéal Anglim.
