Thurles Garden and Flower Club will host an evening of potting of plants, flowers and other garden ideas, also use of garden urns and containers, on Tuesday 14th May at 8pm in the Order of Malta Hall, Thurles. Ms Marjorie Fairclough will give the talk. Non-members are welcome.

The Annual General Meeting of the Carrowclough Residents Association will take place on Friday the 10th May at 7pm in the Community House on the estate. Everyone Welcome.

Tipperary Bealtaine Festival 2024, Celebrating the Arts and Creativity as we age.

Tipperary Town Library will host Bealtaine 2024. Top to Toes Strength and Mobility Workshop on Monday 13th, 20th and 27th May at 10am, May Wellness with Jennie Hannigan on Tuesday 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th of May at 9.30 to 11am, also Edmund Finn’s Retirement Project by Liz Rusheen, introduced by Des Marnane. Ireland’s Own by Margaret Galvin on Thursday 9th May at 11.30am also local stylist and dramatist Maureen Walsh will present three workshops on Thursday 9th, 16th and 23rd of May from 2pm to 4pm. Cashel Library: Sketchbook of Ireland – Art Workshop on Monday 20th May 10am. “Sing your way down memory lane with Suzanne Buttimer” on Friday 3rd May at 10am, Line Dancing with Bernie Corbett on Friday 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th May at 11.30am. Bru Boru will hold a very special concert in remembrance of Nora Butler. On the night of the 11th May Nora will be remembered and celebrated through performances from the Bru Boru performance group and special guests. This is sure to be a very special night and we would advise to book early. Tickets are €10.00, available from Bru Boru on 062 61122 and www.bruboru.ie. All proceeds from the night will go to the Irish Kidney Association.

Doon and District Men’s shed, in association with Joe’s Garden Centre will have a demonstration of summer planting, hanging baskets and flower pot arranging on Tuesday 14th May at 7.30pm. All are welcome, tea afterwards.

Former soldiers who served with the Irish Defence Forces in the CONGO are invited to attend a special service in Sarsfields Barracks, Limerick on May 23rd. The local branches of ONE – Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel, are trying to compile a list of eligible surviving members of the Defence Forces for the Department of Defence to ensure they are recognised on the day. Tipperary Tidy Towns are making an urgent appeal to our community for support with donations to feed the wild birds in the Tipperary Town Hills. Donations for bird seed can be made at All Creatures Great And Small Pet Shop on the Limerick Road. You will be given a receipt for your donation no matter how big or small.

Self Help Africa Charity Tipperary Town are in urgent need of donations of ladies and gents clothing, shoes, linen, etc. Open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10am to 5pm.
