Aherlow Kilross Community Council Allocated €5,500 To Support Biodiversity

A number of applications from county Tipperary were successful in applying for funding for projects to support biodiversity.

Nationally a total of €376,000 is allocated to 78 projects.

Aherlow Kilross Community Council is allocated €5,500 to develop a Community Biodiversity Action Plan, Carrick on Suir Lions Club secured €6,000 for biodiversity support measures and a clean-up of a tidal section of the River Suir, RathCabbin Development Group secured €5,000 for a Biodiversity Action Plan and Friars Lough in Lorrha secured €10,000 for their project to support biodiversity.

The grants are the latest in a joint Biodiversity Fund, an initiative of the Community Foundation Ireland and the National Parks and Wildlife Service which has seen 213 such action plans developed across the country through a joint investment of €1.76 Million since 2019.
