Four people have been hospitalised and one man arrested following a three vehicle collision near Holycross last evening. A three year old child suffered serious but not life threatening injuries in the collision which led to the road being closed overnight until an examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators was completed. The road is now re-opened to traffic.
The incident occurred on the R660 or Abbey road from Thurles at a point between the town limits and Holycross at 6.45pm approximately last evening. A man was arrested following the collision and detained at a Garda station in County Tipperary for an offence contrary to the Road Traffic Act.
Gardaí in Thurles are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area between 6 o’clock and 7pm last evening to make contact. Thurles Garda Station can be contacted by telephoning 0504 25100.
