Councillors in the Tipperary Cahir Cashel Municipal District have selected three priority road issues to be addressed in the annual meeting with Transport Infrastructure Ireland(TII).

Each year TII meets with the Cathaoirleach of the 5 Municipal Districts in addition to the County CEO Joe MacGrath and senior officials from the Roads section.

The three items agreed this year are progress on a pedestrian bridge in Ardfinnan, Safety Improvement Works on the N24 on the Bansha Road near Tipperary town and the Ballydrehid Realignment Works.

Councillor Roger Kennedy hopes the N24 discussion can be broadened to include issues from Monard to the Bansha Road while Cllr Michael Fitzgerald wants the N74 junction for Grantstown near Kilfeacle to be examined during the meeting.

Cllr Andy Moloney says any commitments given by TII must be time bound otherwise the meeting is little more ”than a day out.”
