The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’Brien is to visit several parts of North Tipperary today. At 11am the Minister will be in Newport to officially open the Newport Town Park which has been in operation since 2022.
Following this the Minster is to visit and officially open the Mulkear View Estate and also to visit housing developments at Portroe and Woodview Close in Nenagh. The Minister is to visit Newport CourtHouse and Bridewell shortly after noon. The Minister is due in Nenagh at 2pm.
The Department of Housing data on the number of Commencements Notices for residential construction starts for 2023 shows that notices for 501 new homes in Tipperary were submitted to Housing authorities. This is an increase of 22% compared to 2022 (411).
Nationally, the data shows that between January and December 2023, 32,801 Commencement Notices for new homes were received by the Department. Data on housing completion numbers for 2023 will be published later this week.
