Man To Appear For Second Time At Tipp District Court Relating To Fatal Assault In Kilross

A man is due to appear for the second time in Tipperary District Court sitting in Nenagh  tomorrow charged in relation to the death of a man who was found unresponsive in a house near Kilross early on 27 December.

Maciej Nowak, 32, was renting a house with others outside the village of Kilross and a birthday celebration was held  on St Stephen’s night.

An incident took place and Mr Nowak suffered a serious injury. Gardaí found him in an unresponsive condition in a downstairs room of the house. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí arrested a man, Tomasz Rozpeda, aged 27, of no fixed abode but originally from Poland on Thursday December 28th.  He is charged with assaulting Mr Nowak, causing him harm.

The state applied for a remand in custody and Gardaí say they will be objecting to bail.  Judge Elizabeth MacGrath granted legal aid to the accused.
