595 admitted patients are waiting for beds in the nation’s hospitals this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch report.  124 of the patients or 21% of the total number of patients on trolleys are in hospitals serving county Tipperary.

16 admitted patients are receiving care on trolleys in TUH Clonmel while 108 admitted patients are on trolleys in University Hospital Limerick according to the Irish Nurses and Midwife Associations data.  University Hospital Limerick is by far the most overcrowded as the next highest trolley figure is  68 for Cork University Hospital followed by  46 in Sligo University Hospital. The HSE is to achieve a target of no more than 320 patients on trolleys on any given  day by the end of 2023. This is to be achieved by permanently increasing bed capacity in hospitals.
