Tipperary Sinn Fein TD says he’ been given a commitment that an audit of bus shelters is being carried out by the National Transport Authority.

Martin Browne was informed of this after raising the lack of bus shelters across the county with the Minister for Environment, Climate, Communications and Transport.

Deputy Browne  says comparative to the size of Tipperary, the availability of bus shelters fall far below demand.

Minister Eamonn Ryan says that as part of the roll out of additional rural transport routes, the National Transport Authority is looking at the availability of bus shelters and the need for additional ones.

The Cashel based TD says this cannot happen fast enough and he plans on continuing to keep raising this as an issue of concern for people across the county.
