Tipp Fire Service Recruiting For Retained Fire Fighters

Tipperary Fire Service are seeking to recruit retained fire fighters for all 12 stations across the county.

Working conditions and pay for retained fire fighters are expected to improve following a recent agreement between the union representing the staff, SIPTU and the employer side represented by the Local Government Management Agency(LGMA).

The closing date for applications is  4pm on October 12th. Tipperary County Council  says a panel will be created from which vacancies arising during the lifetime of the panel will be filled. Depending on the number of applications received shortlisting of candidates may be necessary.   Garda Vetting applies to the positon of retained firefighter.

The fire stations are in Clonmel, Cashel, Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary, Cahir Borrisokane, Cloughjordan, Roscrea, Templemore Thurles, Nenagh and Newport.

At present the potential average Annual Earnings are €20,000 to €25,000.
