Water Supplies Expected To Full Return In Tipp Town This Morning

236

Residents and businesses in Tipperary town are expected to have water supplies restored this morning.

Works on two issues overnight led to the water being turned off. Water supplies are returning since 7am this morning and should reach all areas by 10am as the network fills and pressure builds to supply all areas. Businesses have complained to local councillors about the disruption and lack of information regarding water outage issues.

There are also conflicting reports as regards how Uisce Eireann are managing the system locally. It has been reported that water pressure is being turned down at night to conserve supplies and allow the reservoir to fill to enable adequate supplies for daytime demand. It has also been suggested that the night time pressure is being turned down at 11pm to lessen the pressure in the network to prevent burst pipes. Clarification has been sought from Uisce Eireann.
