2917

Work commenced today at ALDI in Tipperary town in preparation for a major store extension. The initial work today involved a number of trees being removed to facilitate the installation of 7 new car parking spaces. The trees were on the boundary line with Tipperary Co-operative Mart. The largest tree is not being removed according to project architect David Deady. The planning application for the extra car parking spaces – 12 in total including 4 EV parking spaces and the building extension was submitted in 2020.

On August 20th the Aldi Store in Tipperary town will close at 8pm and remain closed until Wednesday August 23rd – this closure is to facilitate the construction of a temporary internal partition. Construction works on the extension of the existing building by approximately 5.5 metres will then commence with the store continuing to trade. It is expected that a 4-week closure will be necessary in mid January to enable the works to be completed.  The project will also see the installation of solar panels on the store rooftop.
