Tipperary County Council Calls For Applications From Communities & Groups To Improve Public Roads

312

Tipperary County Council has opened a call for applications from communities or groups that form to work towards an improvement on certain Public Roads. The closing date for receipt of completed applications for the 2024-2025 Scheme is Tuesday 1 August 2023 at 4.30pm.

These are roads on which the Council is not in a position to carry out regular maintenance work.  Generally, the roads in question will be low traffic volume minor roads and cul-de-sac roads.  The Community Involvement Scheme is based on community contributions, currently set at 10%. CIS Grant is subject to Department of Transport funding to provide the balance of the cost of the works.

The council will carry out the works once an application has been approved and the 10% community contribution is paid. The council says previous applicants must re- apply for consideration for the 2024 – 2025 allocation.

Further details and application forms are available from Tipperary County Council website  at this link here. Forms and information is also available by contacting the Roads Section in the Nenagh office of the council.
