Tipperary man Brian Gleeson will be hoping to complete a Six Nations and World U20 Rugby Championship double today when Ireland take on France in the World Championship final in South Africa. Mr Gleeson from Loughmore and a former student in Rockwell College contributed a try in the semi final win over South Africa. The game will kick off at 6pm Irish Time in Athlone Stadium, Cape Town. The area around the Stadium was renamed Athlone after Alexander Cambridge, 1st Earl of Athlone, who was Governor-General of the Union of South Africa from 1924 – 1930.
