4 Winners Announced From The National Lottery Good Causes Awards From Co. Tipperary

There are 4 winners from County Tipperary in the National Lottery Good Causes Awards announced today. The Good Causes Awards celebrate the inspirational work carried out by many volunteers, coaches, care givers and extraordinary people across Ireland, along with the organisations they represent. There are seven categories for the Awards and county Tipperary now has representatives in 4 of the seven Categories.

Tipperary Revitalisation Heritage Group in collaboration with Museum of Childhood Ireland(MOCI) and the Collaborative Town Centre Heath Check(CTCHC) programme has been awarded County Winner in the Heritage category.

The Heritage project, through the eyes of young people, examined the importance of Tipperary towns architectural conservation area (ACA) and includes a film documentary of the towns Gloving Industry(Tipperary Glove Factories Remembered available to watch here).

The Task Force Office is extending congratulations to Mary Alice O’Connor(Documentary Film Producer) Cllr Annemarie Ryan, Majella McAllister (MOCI) and Alison Harvey (Heritage Council CTCHC) and everyone involved in this success.

County Tipperary also has finalists in the Health & Wellbeing Category – Tipperary Rape Crisis Centre, Community Category  – Boher Community Development Group and Ballina Ladies Football in the Sports Category.

A total prize fund of €135,000 is available overall however there is no prize for being selected as a county winner. The judging panel will reconvene over the next few weeks to shortlist the organisations to go through to the National Finals. These selections will be made in late June – the Awards Ceremony will be held on October 21st at a Gala event in the Killashee Hotel, County Kildare.
