Delay To Relocation Of Cashel Post Office

774

An Post is confirming that there is a delay in relocating the Cashel Post Office from the Post Office building on Hogan Square to Supervalu on Main Street – a distance of 100 metres.

The move will now take place on Friday April 26th. The change is taking place as the existing Postmaster, a private contractor, Mr John Morrissey is retiring.

An Post advertised the contract in late 2023 and sought a contractor that might co-locate with an existing commercial business.

Cashel based Cllr Declan Burgess is thanking Mr Morrissey for his contribution to Cashel and wishing him well in his retirement which will take place over the coming days.

Cllr Burgess says An Post has given an assurance that there will be no break in services for Cashel Post Office and wishes the owners of SuperValu the very best in the new venture.

Friday March 15th was the closing date for applicants for the position of private contractor Postmaster in Tipperary town as the An Post run Post Office is to be converted to one run by a private contractor.

A petition calling for the Tipperary Post Office to be located in the town centre has secured 1, 278 signatures on the My Uplift Platform available at this link here.
