40 Tipperary County Councillors To Hold January Meeting Monday In Clonmel

The 40 councillors on Tipperary County Council will hold their January meeting on Monday in  Clonmel. The councillors will receive updates in areas such as Economic/Community/Rural Services Development, Corporate Services, Housing/Ukrainian Refugees and Environment & Climate Action. An update will also be given in respect of the Local Economic and Community Plan 2023-2029. Only one motion has been submitted for consideration.

Cllr Michael O’Meara is seeking support from Tipperary County Council to strengthen the control of Dogs Act Legislation in Ireland. The councillor is seeking a complete reform of dog owner’s responsibilities for public and animal safety. The councillor also wants an immediate review of the Dangerous Dogs Act and consideration to be given to banning ownership of certain dogs in the State. Cllr O’Meara also wants a proper public indemnity insurance requirement enshrined in new legislation for all dog owners.
