Three units of Tipperary Fire Service are dealing with a fire at an occupied farmyard between Kilfeacle and Donaskeigh.

The fire is understood to involve tyres at a silage pit.

Farmers typically use dozens of tyres to secure plastic covering on silage pits as tyres are of sufficient weight but can be easily rolled on and off as needed.

No injuries are reported.

Units from Tipperary Town and Cashel are dealing with the blaze.

Residents in the area have reported seeing a pall of thick black smoke.
