GoSafe Vans To Increase By Four In Co. Tipp

An Garda Siochana has announced a major expansion of safety camera zones from 6am on July 26th.

The measure is part of a number of actions to respond to increasing road fatalities.

There will then be 1,373 new speed cameras in operation nationwide following the introduction of 61 new locations.

All of the locations are available on the Garda website. More than 2.2 million speeding tickets have been issued since the introduction of safety cameras operated by An Garda Síochána & GoSafe.

GoSafe is contracted to provide 7,500 hours speed enforcement per month as directed by An Garda Síochána.

Across county Tipperary there will be 38 locations for safety cameras to detect speeding on local, regional, national and motorway routes following the additional locations commencing on Tuesday July 26th.

To date in 2022, there have been 89 road deaths, an increase in 28 over 2021.

The Safety cameras operate in areas where there is a history of speed related collisions known as speed enforcement zones.
