Tipperary TD Mattie McGrath has been meeting with FF today as talks on the possible formation of a government continue.

Deputy McGrath and his colleagues that form the Rural Independent TDs grouping said that they made their priorities clear during that meeting.

Speaking afterward, Deputy McGrath said that they were looking for fair play for rural Ireland – and that meant all the regional cities and towns as well.

Yesterday, a nine-member group of independent TDs, which included the other independent TD for Tipperary, Michael Lowry, met with both parties.

Deputy Lowry also said afterward that the meetings gave him and his colleagues the opportunity to outline the particular areas they want progressing, but he is also of the view that government formation talks will continue through April.
